Wot, Friday again?

Been busy doing ASG work accounts for a few days but what about yesterday and today?  Well for starters it has turned a touch nippy - I am reliably informed by NOAA that is it 27 degrees F outside and I'm prepared to take its word for it.  For just about the first time this month, I have all the doors and windows closed.

Having had my car most ably serviced by Beach Boyz autos in Surfside last week, I pretty much haven't driven anywhere.  I did go and have a stock up at Lowes (groceries) on Saturday and, somewhat to my surprise, I seem to have eaten and drunk most of it.  Why did I choose Beach Boyz?  Largely because every time we've take our cars to one of the big boys lately, they've always found some vital component that also needs replacing.  So off I trot.  "Do you know your front left wiper is broken and the right one is knackered?"  Oddly enough, I did so I let them replace them.  Final bill was $30 less than one of the big stores had quoted and I'm sure Stan was the only one of them to look up that my Subaru takes 6.5 quarts of oil so I don't anticipate the oil light coming on any time soon.

With that done, it was time to see if I play golf better left or right handed and to find out how much my right hand game has improved. So I played two rounds right handed, scoring the same on both.  So much for improvement, conclusive proof etc.  However, as a result of hunting for lost balls and the die back of undergrowth due to cold weather, the 4 balls I bought at the start of the trip have now grown to 8.

But this is no time for resting on my laurels or any other part of my anatomy.  I must walk to Floyd Cottage.  So on with the shorts, off with the shoes and tootsies into the less than tropical briny and off I go.  Jeez, it's bloody miles but I need the exercise and will regret it forever if I turn round now, I tell myself (though I do get my feet out of the Atlantic while I'm still sure they're there.)  That's Floyd, snuggled between the larger two.  Looks like nobody uses it in Winter as the path from the beach is barely visible.  Shame.

Starting to feel a bit stiff from kicking all that water, I decide to head back to Base Camp for a warm shower but fate had better ideas.  About half way back I found an iPhone wallowing in a couple of inches of water.  Hmmm.  Picked it up and it started buzzing.  Pushed a blob on the screen and it stopped.  I will contact someone in the address book to let them know I have the phone.  "What's your password?"  Hmm.  Sod that.  Got it on whoever it was's second attempt.  Sounded like someone talking through an aqualung in a shunting yard so the seawater hadn't totally destroyed it.  Having shaken it to get the water out of the mike and speaker I finally established a one and a half way conversation with the owner who was - wouldn't ya know it - on the beach by Floyd Cottage.  So a quick about turn, we met halfway and I returned the phone.  I had decided to refuse any reward, though anyone with the money to lose a thousand dollar phone didn't need my charity.  Good thing, too, cos he didn't offer me one.

Finally got back to Dolphin Cove too knackered to have a bath so I settled for a shower.   And dinner and an early night.  Followed by a late morning.
