Sunday, so called because - er.....
While Susan was reveling in the joys of a decent dose of snow, I got rained on. Ferociously and horizontally. Reminded me of Wellington. I wonder if the local tourist board would pay me for these pictures taken shortly after midday. The first one is the best as it is looking north towards the Kiss-Me-Quick of Myrtle Beach, completely concealed by the rain.
So I spent most of the day indoors. I did take a walk to the local corner 7-11 (which is neither a 7-11 nor on a corner) to help satisfy my sudden craving for a lunchtime omelette but, it being Sunday and this not exactly being the height of the holiday season, they were closed. So I had a 1 egg ham omelette. Oh the depravation.
The next picture is the living room of my flat, taken from the kitchen for no other reason than that I was in the kitchen with my camera. Note the parka conveniently draped on a chair to grab on the way out and the pot plant I have shifted from the middle of the table. I started a jigsaw yesterday and after putting the edge together I had no idea what it was. So I put it away again. I'm sure there will be some crappy weather when I get back to Asheville so I can finish it.
This next picture doesn't do justice to the foul colour of the sea or the crappiness of the weather but I'm not going outside to take another one because it is dark and raining. And not overly warm.
As I was awake early this morning and I knew it was going to be crappy outside, I decided to take today as a work day and leave Wednesday afternoon free. "Not bloody likely," said Big Brother computer, violently crashing my system and giving me several thousand "pages" (on my PC, not on paper) of diagnostic info, none of which seemed to belong to my program at all. So having spent longer on that than I should have done and trying a couple of changes that I am now regretting, I did what all software experts do and gave up (though not before I blamed the long-suffering Ed).
And so to bed.
Ah, love the blog name, for sure!! I have often witnessed the gloom of a rainy windy winters' day at Myrtle Beach. My late wife and I usually went for a week or so for our anniversary a few weeks before Christmas, and have Christmased there as well. Well, have fun while we slog through another inch or two.
ReplyDeleteNice. I also enjoy naval museums, and there were plenty to see more than once in New England. There is also a nice one in Savannah https://www.shipsofthesea.org/.
ReplyDeleteNope it would appear not.
ReplyDeleteYou are missing one of best snows we’ve had in ages!
