Sunday - My Day Of Rest
Today I had absolutely nothing to do. So I blobbed in bed until nearly 6:30 and then got up to watch the sun rise which it was indeed kind enough to do for me. Sausages, toast, orange juice and coffe for breakfast as a result of which I learned that microwaving sausages really isn't a good idea as they don't brown at all. They look like something you'd get at McDonalds. Time for a walk. The beach here goes forever in a southerly direction and I walked forever, finding several substitutes for Floyd Cottage in the process. Most of the vacation rental offices seem to be closed for the duration so that's as far as I got on that front.
I'd made the wise decision of walking into the wind so the return trip, which I did up to my knees in water, was easy yet again.
Much to my delight, the air temperature was in the mid 60s F, The sea was at a bracing 57 F so what else to do but get my togs on and dive in. I had the entire Atlantic to myself but stayed in for considerably less than an hour. That gave me an excuse to flake out in the sun to thaw out.
Time to achieve something. I was taught to wield a cricket bat by my left handed nephew, Tony and have batted (and golfed) left-handed ever since. So in a fit of madness I decided to go and play a 9 hole par 3 golf course right handed. At least my score of 49 was less than my age. And what's more I started the round with 4 balls and finished it with 5. Next weekend I will play right handed for statistical purposes. I wonder how many rounds it will take for my right handed game to be consistently better than my left.
So now I await the weekly wrestle with the internet to get a conversation going twixt the three of us.
