Friday housekeeping day

Tidy up, Tidy up, Put stuff away

Bloody awful weather today.  NOAA says we can expect ice overnight. Here's what we look like right now - it's 3 pm so it's not unreasonable to expect it to drop below freezing in the next hour or so.  The local TV news people are of course saying that it NEVER snows here.  Suffice to say that my habitual long walk on the beach was a lot shorter and at a faster pace than usual today.  Even the dairy, to which I went for yet another gallon of milk, was shut with a sign in the window saying they may be shut tomorrow, too.  Don't really care as I have loads of food.
Today's main excitement was taking my car for an oil change at Beach Boyz garage (really didn't fancy the "Look what we found under your hood" treatment at one of the big places though they did notice that my front wiper blades had seen better days).  Nice bunch of blokes and pretty cheap, too considering that 6.4 quarts of oil were involved.
Then what?  Definitely no golf today.  Time to do some half hearted house cleaning.  For starters the dining table here is huge-ish as are the 8 chairs around it: Even though I am on my own, I have to shuffle the chairs to get where I want to be.  Easy answer - cart half of them off to the front bedroom.  Also came home from my walk to discover my Swannie lying on the floor "Ullo ullo ullo" says I, grabbing the nearest heavy object to clobber whoever was lurking.  Closer inspection revealed that the Souvenir From Surfside coat rack was not made for hanging 20 pound coats on.
Turn on news - top item told me Trump is still a moron and some woman spat at some kids.  So much for breaking national and international news.  Turn off news.
I have been intrigued by the place in "town" with the sign saying "You pick your seafood and we'll cook it for you."  Sounded yummy so I picked the largest flounder fillet with half a dozen shrimp and two huge spuds reduced to equally huge chips and, ten minutes later, I walked out with a a large lunch and a heavily damaged $20 bill.
And now I believe it is time to dig out good ole Airplane!  I've had my fill of erudite and depressing stuff for a while.
