I Must Go Down To The Seas Again

Nothing like the Atlantic in winter

Right then.  New year and time to do something adventurous but in keeping with my well-covered frame.  So what could be better than a month at the beach?  Lots of things, probably, considering that the beach is Surfside Beach in South Carolina where the water is struggling to get up to 60 degrees F (or down to 50).  But it does have the huge advantage over flying somewhere that I can take all sorts of toys with me to while away the dark evenings.
So lying around the house waiting to get stuffed in the back of my trusty Subaru are a pile of robotics bits, three computers (one usable, one for sale and one dead), several books of varying degrees of erudition, two cameras, my bike, a guitar, a box of stamps to dispose of and a Flying High DVD.  I no longer carry CDs on my travels as I have finally ripped the lot onto my laptop, even the ones I don't care for.
I've bought way too many robotics bits over the years so I'll be sticking them on ebay at "get these bloody things out of the house" prices.  And I have also bought an excess of guitar music over the years so I am taking a limited amount in hopes of finally being able to play some of it convincingly and not slowing down on the hard bits.  So if you are particularly fond of Leyenda, stay away from Surfside Beach for the next month.
I'll have clothes for every occasion except, perhaps, a royal wedding.  That includes my oft-repaired and finally given up on 20+ year old Ugg boots.  I'd like to set fire to them and launch them out to sea but there's probably a law against it.  Could bury them on the beach.  Or simply toss them out
I'll still be working remotely as a software developer for 24 hours a week and tutoring a couple of bright students for 4 hours (which usually stretches to more like 6 as we get involved in stuff.)  Leaving me 138 hours a week to do whatever I like.  Make that 75 when you allow for sleep.
Watch this space...
